Dr. O’Grady received the American Orthopaedic Association’s Zimmer Award for Orthopaedic Research, and secured a grant from the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation.

He has also served as an consultant to NASA for the prevention of shoulder injuries in astronauts. He also serves as an associate master -instructor at the Orthopaedic Learning Center in Chicago for courses on shoulder instability and on preservation of cartilage in the knee. He is also an instructor for the Arthoscopy Association of North America and focuses on the latest surgical techniques. He has a special interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, shoulder reconstruction, and shoulder replacement surgery.
