Rotator Cuff Repair Protocol
Week 1-2
- Continue use of sling
- Use ice and compression to reduce inflammation
- Gripping exercises for hand and elbow
- Pendulum exercises
Week 3-4
- Use sling as recommended by surgeon
- Continue using ice and compression to reduce inflammation
- Continue all range of motion exercises from Weeks 1-2
- Supine ER with dowel
- Start elbow extension
Week 5-6
- Use sling as recommended by surgeon
- Stretch both before and after strengthening exercises
- Sleeper Stretch
- Trapezius Stretch
- Continue range of motion and stretching exercises
- Start strengthening exercise program
